Director Casualty Support Management
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the DND Centre for the support of Injured and Ill Members, and their Families.
The Department of National Defence is fully aware of the commitment made by both military members and their families. We are proud of the dedication and effort that our soldiers give to ensure the protection of our country and the promotion of peace on the international stage. This is the very reason for which The Centre was created.
Since our beginning in 1999, we have created programs to assist the ill and injured with successful reintegration to their military careers, and if that is no longer possible, or the individual chooses not to do so, then to ease the transition of military personnel back into civilian life, as well as to provide them with every possible assistance so that they and their families may continue to enjoy the quality of life they deserve.
The aim of The Centre is to ensure the provision of support services to all military members who were injured, medically released or became ill while serving, and to also support their families. Our services include a help line, referral programs, an advocacy team, disability benefits, financial assistance, and briefing presentations.
We know how hard it may seem at times to seek help. That is why we make it our priority to treat those who are in need with respect, and we will ensure that all cases are treated with confidentiality.
We continue to be committed to assisting Canadian Forces members who have proudly served their country with valour in times of peace and war. Through various partnerships, we will strive to ensure that our injured, ill and retired people, and their families are supported and given confidence for the future.
Sincerely,
Col Gerry Blais
Director
"The Centre"
