Casualty Support Services
This section is dedicated primarily to providing personalized service to injured or ill members, veterans and their families, in areas such as:
- Guidance regarding AR/MEL process;
- Release item (conflicts with other administrative processes, terms of service);
- Inform members of regulations, policies, services, agencies;
- VAC programs and benefits;
- Administer a contingency and family visitation fund (provide financial assistance to members);
- Advocate on members behalf when necessary, and in relation to our Mission Statement;
- Provide direction on Wound Stripes.
Contingency Fund:
The Contingency Fund is a fund of last resort that provides immediate aid to injured or ill, CF members / veterans and their families. It is used in situations where a need is established and where no other support is available and the assistance provided will resolve the issue on a long term basis.
Family Visitation Fund:
The Family Visitation Fund is primarily for isolated Bases/Wings. It provides financial assistance to CF members and their families so that they may travel to a relative who has been admitted to a hospital not located near their primary residence.
