Azure on a base three bars wavy Argent an ancient ship Or.
Significance
The central device is derived from the Coat of Arms of the City of Quebec. The ship represents the founding of Quebec in 1608 by Samuel de Champlain and the subsequent establishment of Quebec as an important port.

OPERATIONAL HISTORY
The Second World War
Ville de Québec served on escort duties on the Atlantic seaboard, in the North Atlantic, around the United Kingdom and in the Mediterranean Sea with the 'Western Local Escort Force', the 'Mid-Ocean Escort Force', the 'Quebec Force' and 'Plymouth Command'.4 On 13 January 1943 she sank the German submarine U224 in the western Mediterranean Sea.5
