The AHQ Reports, compiled by the staff of the General Staff Historical Section from 1948-1959, were the
successors to the Canadian Military Headquarters (CMHQ) Reports
once Col C.P. Stacey and his
staff returned to Canada from London, England (1947-1948).
Some are refinements of original CMHQ reports, based on additional
documentation acquired both during and after the Second World War;
others deal with entirely new material not covered by the CMHQs.
All were used by the narrative writers whose work was the basis
for the official histories written by Col Stacey and LCol G.W.L.
Nicholson.
The AHQ Reports below have been declassified and are being made
available electronically over time. All hard copies are available
for viewing at the Directorate of History and Heritage (DHH).
Historical documents in their own right, these reports are available only in English.
The following historical documents are from the period prior to 1969 and/or are presented in
their original language only, with permission from Director Official Languages (DOL).
