This memorial, designated a "cross of sacrifice" was unveiled on 6 June 1975 through the efforts of the Trustees of the Veterans Fields of Honour and the city of Calgary. It is dedicated to those who served during the First and Second World Wars and Korea.

JUNE 6TH, 1975 AND WAS UNVEILED ON THAT DATE
BY THE HONOURABLE DANIEL J. MACDONALD, MINISTER
OF VETERANS AFFAIRS. THIS MEMORIAL WAS ERECTED
BY THE TRUSTEES VETERANS FIELDS OF HONOUR
IN CO-OPERATION WITH THE CITY OF CALGARY
AND DONATIONS RECEIVED FROM THE VETERANS
ORGANIZATIONS, INDIVIDUAL VETERANS, THEIR
RELATIVES AND FRIENDS.
