Monument to Plane Ferry During Second World War. It was moved from Burner Hill in 1991 to its present location. The aircraft was refurbished by volunteers from 9 Wing Gander 103 Squadron in 1990.

DEPARTED GANDER 2233 GMT ON THE NIGHT OF NOVEMBER
THE TENTH, 1940 AND LANDED AT ALDERGROVE IRELAND,
0945 GMT THE NEXT MORNING
THE AIRCRAFT HERE IS IDENTICAL TO THE ONE THAT
MADE THIS FLIGHT WHICH WAS THE FIRST SUCCESSFUL
TRANS ATLANTIC CROSSING FROM GANDER, IT IS MOUNTED
HERE ON THIS SITE IN COMMEMORATION OF THAT EVENT
AND THE MANY THOUSANDS OF MEN AND AIRCRAFT WHO
HAVE FOLLOWED SINCE THEN.
