This memorial was originally unveiled on 27 July 1994 at the site of the old City Hall on Sussex Drive. It is dedicated to the memory of Canadians who had enlisted in Ottawa for service with the Canadian Army Special Force and members of Canada's Regular Forces who made the supreme sacrifice during the War in Korea, during training or as peacekeepers following the armistice that was signed on 23 July 1953. The memorial is constructed from pink granite donated by the Government of the Republic of Korea. It was moved to its current location in Veterans' Grove in 1998. At this time the plaque contains thirteen names but should display twenty-one names. A new plaque is in the process of being created that will contain all the names.
