This memorial tablet erected by the No 1 Company Governor Generals Foot Guards and the Ladies Soldiers Aid Association of Ottawa was unveiled on May 2, 1887. The memorial is dedicated to the memory of Privates J. Rogers and Wm. B. Osgood who fell in action at Cut Knife Hill on May 2, 1885.
